System requirements for Heroes of Might & Magic IV call for Mac OS 9 or better, or 10.1 or later; G3/350MHz or faster; 750MB hard disk space; 4x CD-ROM; and 28.8Kbps modem or better for online play. I purchased a Windows version of Heroes 3 on Gog, then used Wineskin to create a 'wrapped' version of the game. Wineskin allows you to install the windows application into a 'wrapper' which is a normal.app file – a Mac application, containing your installed game and a copy of Wine specifically configured to run given game on Mac.

The first archived link is just the game without the audio tracks as provided by the original uploader. The second link is the updater. The third one is the complete CD with 49 audio tracks, saved as a bin/cue file combination, and compressed with Mac OS X zip. Use Toast to burn a CD from the bin/cue files.

I'm trying to run an old game named Heroes of Might and Magic - The Shadows of Death and I have the game CD in the drive and it loads but then say's 'Please insert the Heroes of Might and Magic Shadows of Death CD-ROM'. In the Settings/Storage I clicked my Host Drive G: and in the right pane checked the Passthrough check box but it didn't help. I still get the same error message. I don't know what else to do to make the game run. Does anyone know how to run that game in a Virtualbox?

I think the game is looking for the copy protection on the CD and not finding it but it's the original CD, not a copy. I don't get it. It runs fine on the HOST computer.
